In this pane all parameters related to ion exchange are set.
The number of species that are participating in reactions at each ion exchange site can be changed manually by the user. Therefore, it has to be ensured by the user that this number is consistent with the setup of reactions and ion exchanged species.
There must be at least one reaction taking place at each ion exchange site.
You can add a new ion exchange site before you can set up any ion
exchanged species, but you will have to do this before you can save or run
the model. For each ion exchange site you need to declare a reference species.
All species that can be a reference species can be seen by opening the combo
box in the "Reference species" column in the first table. If there are no
reference species present, you will have to add an ion exchanged species.
The number of species participating in reactions at each ion exchange site
is only displayed here. When you set up an ion exchanged species, you will
have to declare at which site it is reacting. (You have to have at least
one ion exchange site added before you can add ion exchanged species.)
Ion exchange capacities for all ion exchange sites are declared in the second table at the bottom of the pane. All ion exchange capacities have to be positive. They are declared for all sites in all materials.
